Daniel Perlman has more than a decade of experience helping families who have children with special needs. He previously served as the case law attorney for Massachusetts Advocates for Children (MAC), one of the first educational advocacy organizations for children in the nation. Since then, he has represented and counseled families of children with special needs from across the state. He is a graduate of Northeastern University School of Law and the University of Massachusetts, where he graduated magna cum laude.

In 2015-2019, Attorney Perlman was selected as a Rising Star among attorneys in Massachusetts by Super Lawyers. He is an Advisory Board member of Exceptional Lives, and a member of the Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates (COPAA), and the Special Needs Advocacy Network (SPAN).

In addition to his practice, Attorney Perlman developed and manages Special Education Law (specialedlaw.com) a free resource for parents, advocates, educators, and attorneys in Massachusetts. Attorney Perlman frequently presents on special education and school discipline law at professional conferences and workshops, and to SEPACs, nonprofits, and other organizations.

As a special education attorney, Attorney Perlman helps ensure that children with special needs receive the services and support they are entitled to under law. He routinely represents and advises families on all aspects of special education disputes including the team process (evaluations, eligibility, IEP development, program and placement disputes), school discipline, mediation, unilateral and out-of-district placements, litigation at the Bureau of Special Education Appeals, and settlement negotiation.
